Loved the idea, BUT....

I have severe allergies to dust, pollen and anything that blooms in Spring. This means that I am completely house bound for 4 months!

We have tried with some success other types of air purifications system. All seem to help even to a limited degree. But after reading the information on the IQAir website, we decided to go for broke and try the best.

The website and brochures are impressive.
We love the ideas and mission statements stated in them, BUT the reality is somewhat different.

Be prepared, the IQAir HealthPro Plus is loud and noisy. We had to change out the V5 cell filters (filter for gas and odor) twice because of the terrible smell.

You do get a warning that there may be some smell when you first turn the filter on, so you should let it run on high for several hours.

We let the unit run on high for 36 hours when we first got the unit with no change in the strong smell.

We called IQAir direct to exchanged the V5 cell filter with no problem (they were very nice about it) In the meantime, at IQAir suggestion, we ran the IQAir without the V5's and there was no problem with the unit or the other filters.

We put in the new V5 cell filter in and let it run for 12 hours...the odor was terrible...we then put the unit in our garage and let it run for another 12 hours. The terrible odor continued.

We have since returned the HealthPro Plus directly to IQAir, and will exchange it for a HealthPro Compact, which does not have the V5 cell filter.
