Author's Review
This game came out in 2001, and I just bought it in July 2003 for $8.00 on ebay.
There is a newer version: Forgotten battles, with a little better graphics, and more planes to fly, but it's at least twice as expensive.
I have a P4 1800, 512 MB ram, Radeon 9000 graphics, standard creative sound card.
With this machine I can set the game at 'excellent' graphics and play with good frame rates.
The new version 'forgotten battles' probably requires a much better video card so this game is for my computer.
The graphics with 'excellent' setting are wonderful and I was surprised that in 2001 the graphics in games were this good.
At the beginnig I had some problems with my sound, until I found the correct settings for my 'cheap soundcard'. It does not support 3d sounds, except with DirectX.
I have played online (DSL connection), there are few servers, but it is alot of fun.
It took me a few days to just learn how to nicely take off and land, and I am still learning the maneuvers against enemy fighters.
You have to spend time to learn the airplanes.
This is a real simulator, not an Action-Shooter.
