Heck of a big humidifier, may require some big muscles to fill

Pros: Big water reserve. Quiet, never rattles. Can regulate humidity from very low to very high.
Cons: Needs muscles / hand strength to refill. Lose a star for water tanks' slanted tops.
The Bottom Line: Delivers lots of humidity quietly. Ingenious system! If big tanks are too heavy to manipulate when completely filled, OK to fill them partially. But, tightening filler-plugs requires some hand strength.

Review: My house is small, about 1000 square feet. This humidifier is big enough for a house at least twice that size. The quality is good enough that buying two of them, making two humidifying zones for your 3000 sq. ft. house, would work out fine.

Pros: Humidifies really well, Microban Protection
Cons: Noisy, Not very pretty, large
The Bottom Line: It's okay, Maybe if you got it on sale.

Review: I recently got the opportunity to try this unit out. Because I didn't actually purchase the unit, I was willing to try it out even though I had heard some not-so-flattering things about the unit. It wasn't on my dollar! I wouldn't mind a little...

Pros: Reasonably priced with large capacity (duel reservoir), Accurate humidistat
Cons: Wick needs to be replaced frequently, EVEN with optimum water conditions.
The Bottom Line: Purchase a unit that employs permanent filter technology (not a wick)
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I have owned several portable units over the years. Everything from warm mist (which sent my electrical bills through the roof), to a couple of different cool mist units which were much more energy efficient, but nosier. It s a trade off for sure...

Pros: Does put the moisture in the house and has a pleasant design.
Cons: Handles broke loose, expensive filters, and becomes heavy to refill.
The Bottom Line: I gave the HM 3500 a below average rating only because of the problems I had with it.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: My unit made it just past a month of running well. The design is nice on this humidifier for such a large unit. I liked the rounded corners making it easy to place it just about any where in the house. I chose to put mine in our living room which is...

Pros: Quite. Effective. Tanks do not drip. Fairly compact.
Cons: The angled top of tanks is stupid. Filler caps become too tight.
The Bottom Line: It's a good unit for the money.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I use the Holmes 3500 to humidify a 1500 sq. ft. home. I maintain a 40% humidity level (I use a humidistat) during the heating season. I leave the fan set to medium. I fill both tanks once per day.
I've used the unit for 3 months. I'm very... |

Pros: Decent looks, decent operation, moderately priced replacement filters
Cons: Filling tanks needs some effort, filter monitor is not accurate at low fan speed
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This cool-mist humidifier is very decent looking compared to a lot of other models you can find these days. It has two 3-gallon tanks on one end which are slightly hard to fill up cos you need to have some upper body strength and either some...

Pros: When it works, it disperses moisture very well. Nothing else good to say.
Cons: Noisy, eats power, filter costs!!!!,Breaks under its own weight, water everywhere!!!
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: This unit actually broke under its own weight. The plastic botton cracked by the wheels, due to the weight of the water when fully filled.
Loud and badly balanced, very difficult to move, or to fill the two tanks. If you screw the bottom on... |

Pros: humidify about 2000 square feet with appropriately sized water reservoir.
Cons: Reservoir tanks are angled/hard to fill, expensive wick filters designed for intentional premature failure.
The Bottom Line: unless you are prepared to goof around making your own filters you probably shouldn?t buy this or any other unit that uses disposable wick filters.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: All things considered the Holmes HM 3500 is a perfectly acceptable humidifier that will humidify about 2000 square feet and has some desirable features such as an appropriately sized water reservoir, the multi speed fan and humidistat. That having...

Review: Had problems with the HM3600 model and returned it for the HM3500 as it was the only model in stock. Unit cycles on and off constantly, much too often. Also creates snow on TV when it goes on and off. A neighbor has the same complaint. On top of...

Pros: Did a good job when it worked, pushing out a lot of water.
Cons: Went through expensive filters two or three a season.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I used the 3500 fairly extensively for two winters. But when I tried to start it up the third winter, the motor was burned out and I was stuck with three extra expensive filters.
I give it good ratings for the two years it worked; I just... |
