My Harman Kardon Speakers Rock!
Date of Review: Jan 3, 2008
The Bottom Line: I recommend these speakers to anyone looking for an attractive and easy to use speaker system for their MP3 player, stereo or computer.
I was looking for an attractive yet easy to set up pair of speakers for my living room. I have a CD player and an MP3 player and I didn't want to pay for more than I needed for my relatively small room (300 sq feet). I saw these very cool SoundStickII speakers at a friend's house and thought I'd try them.
I love the sleek design and softly glowing blue lights. I have traditional Spanish architecture in my home, but these modern-looking bubbles actually look great in the room.
The sound is terrific. The subwoofer (the larger bubble) can sit on the floor or up on top of the stereo cabinet. Either way, the bass is strong and mellow. This three speaker set provides more than enough sound for my room. Even during a recent dance party, I barely had the volume up more than 50%.
Another great feature is that they are easy set up. I had them out of the box and playing music within 10 minutes, and I'm no techie.
While the speakers do come with an adapter that allows you to plug them into either an MP3 player (regular headphone jack) or a stereo or CD player (red/white audio cables), you have to manually switch back and forth between these two options. It would be great if there was a way to keep them both plugged in all the time.
