Hamilton Beach Meal Maker Express 25285 Indoor Grill

Although it functioned well, the unit I purchased produced an odor of burnt plastic. I found that the white plastic around the plates gets very hot. I think that is where the odor was coming from after looking it over very carefully. I also had smoke coming out the back hinge and sides when grilling a chicken breast. I thought this might discolor the plastic over time. I returned it to buy a higher cost grill without a plastic container.
