The Bottom Line:
Overall, I enjoy using this machine a lot. If you have confined spaces, no vent and only have 110 voltage outlet then this is the way to go.

I just bought this washer/dryer combo in December 0f 2002. I have been using it for about a month. So far it is great. I no longer have to carry my load of laundry to the laundromat and wait for 2 hours. What's also great is the fact that you don't have to transfer the wet clothes to the dryer. I just put the clothes in the washer, set it and forget about it.
The product comes with free installation but since we did not have a certified Haier technician around our area, we installed it ourselves. It was pretty simple. Just hook up the water inlets, the drainage hose, the power cord and you are good to go. It helps that it is ventless too. You don't need a hole in the wall. Since I am renting an apartment, this helps tremendously.
I bought the 11lbs capacity. It is a pretty good size for us but if you have more than 2 people in the household then I suggest you get the 14lbs capacity or if you prefer you can do a couple of loads a day.
Just like the user guide says, I don't use as much detergent since it is a front loader. The dryer is pretty good, the clothes do come out dry except for when I wash heavy duty materials like Jeans and sweaters, then they do come out a little damp. It takes about 60 minutes for cold washes and 90 minutes for warm. You have the option to set the drying time. I usually use 90 minutes or 120 minutes for heavier materials. What is also great about this machine is that even though I live a a pretty old apartment and the floors are not level, the machine does not dance around and end up on the other side of then room. It is pretty quite and the only time we pretty much hear it is when it is when it is on its spin cycle where we hear a hum. It spins at a very high RPM so not much vibrations and noises.
Some features of the machine:
- It has a water saver function. To be used for small loads. Works great but even for normal loads, it uses less water than top loaders.
- You can also choose "No Spin" function when you have delicate items that you don't want to run through the final spin cycle.
- For the dryer options, you have High or Low selection. Within that, you can select up to 120 minutes dry time for high temp and up to 80 minutes for the low temp. The dryer option can be set to turn on automatically after the wash cycles. You can use the dryer without having to go through the wash cycle, so it also works as a standalone dryer.
- Uses only 110V current compared to large household machines that operate on 220V.
- Does not require venting. This allows the machine to be placed anywhere as long as there is a faucet and place for drainage.
- There are 3 cycles:- Cotton, Synthetic and Wool/Delicate. Within the cycles you can choose heavy, normal or light along with cold, warm or hot water selections.
The only complaint I have is the so called lint trap. The user guide recommends cleaning it after each use but whenever I open to clean it, some water comes pouring out. I am going to call the customer service to see if this is normal or is there something I should do. Hope this helps you!!!!
