Ok, my husband and I knew going in that combo units like this do very small loads and take longer to dry. Since usually we throw laundry in the wash before we go to bed and in the dryer in the morning before we go to work, a 5-hour load is "fast" to us. Somewhere we had a disconnect though, and thought we were buying a unit that had a humidity sensor so that it would keep drying until the clothes were fully dry and then automatically stop. Um, no. That's the LG Direct Drive we were thinking of. Now we're kicking ourselves because having to reset the dryer four times to get the clothes dry is really annoying. We bought from a retailer who doesn't take returns after an appliance has been installed, so we're just sort of stuck with it and really unhappy.
Moral of the story: Combo units are good, but not this one! Buy an LG with auto-dry!
