Pros: Simple to use. Additional features are helpful and fun. Cost is decent. We are pleased.
Cons: Wish it had more voices - such as Sean Connery's.
The Bottom Line: Hubby says it's a great investment because it steers you clear of trouble (except for his speeding ticket in Va). Oh well... we like the Garmin a lot!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I had no interest.
Zip. Nada. But Garmin's catchy Christmas jingle caught my attention -especially the one with the moose. (I like "mooses".) Plus darling hubby was pining for one -- (not a moose, a GPS). And we had a family reunion in... |

Pros: bright screen, fast fixes, loud clear voice, 6 mill points of interest, intuitive to use
Cons: irritating auto zoom, lack of map detail, no distance to next exit, no scale
The Bottom Line: Yes, recommend as a basic GPS at excellent price.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Positives: huge 4.3 inch screen, superbright, easy to read in direct Alabama summer sunlight while wearing sunglasses, very pleasing night color scheme, fast initial fix (except one mysterious evening when I was leaving the Atlanta airport to get on...

Pros: Easy to use, Quick Start, Big Screen
Cons: I have yet to find any
The Bottom Line: This is a great system, I bought it in doubt, but it has worked for me, even in areas where buildings seem they might block satellite signal.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I was always talking about going and getting a GPS System but I could never actually put out the money and pay for one of those fancy digital maps. I was hoping to be able to wait till I gone out of state or something, but I started up a new class...

Pros: portable, inexpensive, easy to use, saves ink & paper
Cons: maps not always accurate
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone, simply b/c it's friendly to the environment (no printed paper maps) plus it is easy to use.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The GPS is a great device to have, especially if you are a frequent traveler. We are a military family, and we travel quite a bit. Our first time using the GPS was on a trip to South Carolina. The GPS was easy to program, and like any electronic...

Pros: Set up was easy.
Cons: Product doesn't work for its purpose.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: Bought this product yesterday. Set up was easy. Used it this morning to my office to check accuracy. It wasn't. It would have taken me in the opposite direction at least 7 miles out of the way on what was a simple drive consisting of only four...

Pros: Up to date maps, voice directions, preloaded business addresses with more downloads available.
Cons: None that we've found so far.
The Bottom Line: For the price, this series is great for the vacationer and traveling business person. In fact, this does everything we need it to and more!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This is our first GPS system and we used it for a trip from Northeastern PA to Sandusky, OH. We nicnamed it "Lola" same as Robin Williams in the RV movie.
One thing I love about this system is that she actually tells you what lane to be in... |

Pros: Great screen, very user friendly, can change characters, TONS of POIs
Cons: Sometimes you need to just use the map instead of the on-screen directions
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this unit to someone who isn't very tech-savvy
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The Garmin Nuvi 200 series; simple, cost efficient, helpful if you're completely lost...
What can I say, I paid around $250 for this little guy and I got what I paid for, and that's not necessarily a bad thing in this case. Sure it's not... |

Pros: User friendly interface, accurate directions, durable, reliable, good battery life.
Cons: Can be dangerous to use while driving.
The Bottom Line: A great GPS for those needing directions from a user friendly, reliable device.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I purchased the Garmin 200W for use while doing my job as a police officer. Prior to this, I had been using a much bulkier Street Pilot ColorMap for the past 8 years before it finally died. I was immediately impressed with the 200W when I took it...

Pros: Average functionality for one year.
Cons: Reduced user-friendlyness after 12 months of use.

Review: Average GPS. After using it for 12 months a "MAP UPDATE ALERT" screen comes up EACH time the unit is turned on. This annoying screen stays on until the user physically acknowledges the message. It appears that the only way to remove this feature...

Pros: Price and functionality . No connection to computer required to download maps
Cons: Navigation screen don't give you distance to destination. You have to change screens.
The Bottom Line: Buy it. It is a great unit with more advantages than problems with small investment.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I don't think there is a better unit for that price. It gives you what you need related to directions. I wish the navigation screen could show the distance to destination and the distance to the next turn. Instead it gives you time to destination...
