The Bottom Line: Great unit for Hiking, GeoCaching, or other uses that don't require mapping functions. Light, easy to use, accurate, inexpensive, and rugged.

Well, I Like Mine, Anyway

The Bottom Line: I like my Venture, it's small, cheap, and easy...just remember to never trust technology 100%.
Review: My dad got me a handheld GPS receiver (GPSr) for Christmas last year -- the Garmin eTrex Venture. It came with a lanyard and a serial cable to connect it to a computer. I haven't used the cable, but I've used the heck out of the GPSr, and I like it!...

Better than Standard Military Pluggers...

Perfect for Geocaching

Etrex makes a great GPS.

Small and effective!

The Bottom Line: This GPS reciever is very reliable. While some things I would change, it has all the fundamentals. All around fantastic product which has served me very well!

Not the best but good features for the $$

Review: I haven't owned other GPS units but I have compared against others. I strongly dislike the lack of shock resistance when I'm on my ATV...however when used in a car or walking the unit seems to perform well. I was not able to get this unit to work...

A fun little navigational tool

The Bottom Line: A fun, feature-laden, customizable piece of technology. Just don't count on it as your sole source of navigation if you are hiking in VERY heavily-wooded areas.
Review: I've used my Venture for a variety trips, including rock climbing, hiking, long road trips and fishing.
