Wow! Amazing device that is the answer to paper maps

Date of Review:  Mar 2, 2004
The Bottom Line: An easy to use unit packed with features to replace paper maps forever.
Review: The StreetPilot 2610 is the newest entry in the line of automotive GPS navigation units from Garmin, one of the leaders in consumer GPS units. It is the successor to the StreetPilot III, which is still being sold and was at the top of Garmin's line...

Easy To Use, Great Performance, Well Designed

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2004
The Bottom Line: Not a lot of products meet my approval. The Garmin 2610 is one of those products that I can recommend to friends, and be sure they'll remain friends.
Review: I work as an analyst in the mobile technology industry, and Location Based Products (like the 2610) is one of the areas I cover. I have found this unit to be extremely well designed, and a joy to use. That's from a guy who has tried about 12 similar...

Garmin 2610 + 2GB CF Card = Excellent Travel Companion

Date of Review:  Oct 17, 2004
The Bottom Line: The 2610 is a worthy choice if you are considering a built-in navigation system or if you travel extensively. If your needs aren't as robust, consider the Garmin QUEST.
Review: If you're evaluating the Garmin GPSV, GPS 60c, Quest or 2610/2620 units for auto-navigation use, this review might be of interest to you...

Rock Solid GPS for the Road!

Date of Review:  Jan 14, 2004
The Bottom Line: Bottom line on this device is easy: The 2610 is one of those devices you look up one day and ask yourself - how did i ever live w/o this?
Review: ** Before I walked into BestBuy and purchased the Garmin 2610, I spent a few weeks researching after-market GPS devices for use in my new Land Rover, including the Garmin StreetPilot III, the Magellan 500 and 700, among others. **

I'm that...

Never (ok hardly ever) get lost again

Date of Review:  Feb 26, 2004
The Bottom Line: Unless you have bad vision, drive far and wide, or lots of excess cash, pick the Garmin over the pricier models
Review: I won't replow the same ground as the other reviews. Most of the other reviewers have compared this to other portable GPS units -- I'll deal with how the Garmin stacks up against the $2000 units. Speficifcally, I have the one from Alpine that is an...

Garmin 2610 is a great car navigation unit - Get It

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2004
The Bottom Line: The Garmin 2610 is a great GPS unit that really works
Review: I wanted a portable GPS navigator for my car for a long time but due to cost and lack of functionalities I had not acted upon it until now. I recently retired the old car and replaced it with a new one. I almost bought the GPS option but I wanted...

A Bloody Ripper. The Best GPS yet. [additional comments]

Date of Review:  Nov 19, 2004
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. Definitly the BEST on the market. Many clever features. Simple to operate.
Review: Well I purchased my Garmin 2610 in May 2004.

From a well respected GPS specialist in Queensland. A dealer whom I purchased my Garmin eMap from a few years before hand. I live on the Central Coast of New South Wales in Australia.

Keep a Map in the Trunk

Date of Review:  Sep 21, 2004
The Bottom Line: If you are a frequent traveler, it is worth while. You will be able to find hotels and restaurants easily.
Review: I picked up a new 2610 about nine months ago. One of the primary reasons is because I travel frequently and often arrive in a new city with only a street address and hotel name and limited directions. I figured that, instead of trying to read...

An excellent, minimalist user interface - touchscreen makes data entry a breeze

Date of Review:  Jan 15, 2005
The Bottom Line: Buy it - you will not regret it. This is an excellent navigation unit. I personally prefer the 276c, but read the review to find out why.
Review: This is top-based posting, so you need to read what follows to know what the history is.

Update: September 15, 2005

Finally (10 weeks after it began) I received my replacement unit from Garmin - to unjam the system I wrote a...
