The Bottom Line:
If you are in the market for a GPS, that won't break the bank, I recommend the Garmin C530.

I bought it for my husband, he always goes to different job sites, this unit has not let him down yet! If there is a detour or any hold up, he can just turn off his route and the Garmin will recalculate to his location and give him new instructions to his destination. The only complain he had was when he removed the mount from the windshield (during the summer) it had left a ring of rubber, and would not stick to windshield again. So, when I had to travel to an unfamiliar location we needed to purchase the dashboard mount which was terrific, this enabled us to transfer unit between cars. My experience was driving to upstate New York (Adirondack area). I had never been there and believe me it was very remote! No matter where I needed to go, the Garmin got me there. Always telling me how far it was until I needed to turn. It also will tell you what lane to be in if you are on a highway. I didn't get lost once! We love this unit so much that we purchased another for my in-laws! If you shop around you can get this unit for a reasonable price of $200-$250. Just make sure you get it with the latest version of the maps - 2008 maps are now out.
