Want a Sleek Under-the-cabinet TV? Pass on this one!

Since we were just having the new Verizon FiOS (fiber optics) TV, Internet and phone service installed we paid for a line to be put in the kitchen for a TV. My wife bought this under-the-cabinet TV at Macy's.

Installing--If I can do it....
This TV installs under the cabinet without too much difficulty. It's a matter of taping a template under the cabinet and mark where the screws will go.

Not only a TV
The TV also has bands for Weather/AM/FM radio. Warning!. Unless you are connecting a cable box to this, the TV will ONLY pull in analog signals so all we get are the local channels via the cable (since FiOS is only digital).

RTFM
That stands for "Read the Full Manual"
The manual is long, really long. Like 6-1/2 whole pages, with very little text. It's mostly pictures for those who hate to read.

My wife and I didn't find this TV very intuitive to use. There's a function button to switch between TV and the various radio bands. Then there's a button that controls the channel up/down/menu/items.

Here's an example (I describe the pictures since there's no text):
To Change the sharpness:
1) Press the menu side of the button to bring up menu choices
2) Press the "Item" side on the same button twice to highlight the "sharpness" selection
3) Press Channel Up/Down side of same button to change the sharpness.
4) Press "Menu" to exit

This does come with a very small remote from which you can also perform the same actions. The TV does have an autoscan which will scan for all the available channels. Then pressing the channel up and down button will only advance through those available channels.

You can hook up an auxiliary source to the TV such as video game system (tell me WHY!).

Other Features
There is a nice blue LCD clock that can also be used as a kitchen timer.
It takes 2 AAA batteries for maintaining the time in case of power outage.
The TV can be rotated and also folds back under the cabinet.

How does it LOOK?
It is just NOT a sharp image. My cheapie 7" portable $99 Mintek DVD player from 4 years ago looks like HD compared to this 7" TV screen.

Other disappointments?
When you shut off the TV it doesn't keep the old volume setting. Every time we power on the unit, it's blares until we turn down the volume! ARGH! Also, based on the other couple of reviews people have gotten this much cheaper than the $137 my wife paid at Macy's for 'clearance.' My recommendation: save your money and buy a better model.
