Love it so far

This GE replaced my long used (10 years) Sharp Micro/Convection oven. I decided away from Sharp due to the poor reviews; and took the plunge to wards GE. I got white, and since I have purchased it from Sears I purchased their 5 year warranty for an additional $98.00. This brought the total price to near $500, which was the original price of my Sharp ten years ago.

This is such a nice and well designed Convection/Microwave Oven, and both myself and my older son love it. The menu display is very nice, along with some really nice options to change the loudest of the peep etc. I found the manual also easy to understand.

We use this oven for almost all our cooking. From quick heating up soups, to baking cornbread. Since it is circular, I have purchased several circular cooking sheets, and just line these with aluminum foil for easy clean up; they are used when backing.

I have even purchased some of the silicone baking items, using them so far for a meat loaf and that all worked just great using the convection oven. It also seems to be a little more powerful than my old Sharp and thus things cook quicker.

The interior is stainless steel and cleans up easily. I haven't cooked a Turkey or anything like that in it so far, but I feel that will all work out.

It is really nice to cook frozen foods like chicken wings with the combination setting which will defrost while browning the outside. I generally do 20% power to help with the defrosting, for you still need enough time so that the food will brown up nicely.

I believe everyone would be much happier with microwave/convection ovens than with just your basic microwave they are much more flexible and give you so many more choices with much better results.
