MAJOR LEMON

My son bought this model for me out of the kindness of his heart and it's less than 2 years old and the transmission went out on it; of course with a full load. I have been around appliances for over 50 years and have never come across a washer that lasted less than 2 years. What happened to the good old days when you could count on a washer lasting until you got tired of the color? This washer is a MAJOR LEMON. DO NOT BUY ONE. You will regret it because it's going to cost you about $100.00 for a repair guy plus the cost of a transmission which I can only guess is at least another $100.00 because that's the major part of the washer. Sure, I could have done the research to find out exactly what it costs, but for a hundred dollars more, you could go out and buy a new one, so why wouldn't you? I think I'm going to go with an LG this time, AFTER I make sure GE isn't the manufacturer. What is it with our "trusted" big names anymore? Doesn't anyone have any pride in workmanship or fortitude in standing behind their products anymore? Thanks for reading and good luck if you already bought one of these bad boys.
