love the sound of a train coming? Buy this frig.

This refrigerator is loud. I called the company (GE) and have been told that this noise is normal. They have been receiving many complaints about the frig. sounding like a jet landing, a train pulling in, etc. but, they will do nothing about it. Why? Because this noise is normal for this frig (and maybe others made by GE?). The lady on the phone admitted freely that many calls have come in but the motor just sounds like that. They are working on a new motor that will be much quieter. Not that this motor will be available to me as a replacement, but for future refrigerators, future buyers. So, unless you just like a rattling, grinding sound throughout your house, don't buy this one.
