Author's Review

Over the last 30 years I've owned several pickups for home use.
By far the best service I've received from any pickup is this 1988
Ford Ranger.
It has the "King Cab", with 4 wheel drive. In the 10 years, (I
bought it used.),we've had this truck we've had only one problem:
the intake manifold. It was under warranty even for a second owner
and was promptly replaced by a Ford dealership in St. Louis even though
I had bought the vehicle in Nashville.
Since that time we've had no problems with the truck. It's now
12 years old and looking good, running well and giving us it's usual
good service.Gas mileage is very good for a truck.
True, it's not a full truck but I don't need one. We use it for
lumber yard runs, taking the BBQ grill and outdoor furniture to the
lake, parks, etc., and when in snow/ice for general transportation.
My next truck will be a Ford for sure and it will probably be
another Ranger but I first will have to get more use out of this one.
I's sure the Ford people would want me to buy again soon but they just
made this one too well to trade-in now.
