Very close to being the perfect bouncer!

A great new addition to the Fisher-price line is the "Rainforest Collection" and this is another one of the many items I have from the line. I received this item as (yet again) a baby shower present, only this time I got this item from my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Even though (yet again) I didn't register for it I believe it's one of those many items we could not survive without.

Description
This bouncer is colorful, bright, and a great form of stimulation for your little one. The toy bar has a cute simulated waterfall that lights up and is absolutely mesmerizing to babies and adults too. A monkey and tree frog move back and forth and another monkey (with detachable rings) and a bird (I think it's a parrot..) hang from the toy bar (which did I mention is removable!).

The seat plays 12 playful songs or nature sounds and has 3 volume settings; med ,high, and off. It also offers 2 different play modes; continuous and "interactive". The "interactive" mode activates the waterfall, lights, sounds, and moving animals when baby bats or kicks at the hanging toys. It runs on 4 "D" batteries which can get a bit expensive but I've found that even though we use this toy at least 3 hours a day (and also I'm known very well around my home for forgetting to switch off toys) I've only had to replace the batteries once in the last 3 1/2 months.

The seat cover is very soft and easy to clean, it slips off and is machine washable or you can just wipe it down with a cloth. For added safety the seat has a 3-point harness which goes around your baby's waist and between their legs. The maximum weight limit on this toy is 25lbs or until your child can sit upright unassisted. The seat is supposed to be "extra wide", but I have nothing to compare it to since this is the only bouncer we've owned. The toy bar is removable and the seat has a switch that makes it vibrate to help soothe a tired or fussy baby after playtime is over.

My Experience
I believe that this comes very close to being the perfect bouncer BUT like many others I have come face to face with the infamous clicking noise from the defective toy bar. I never thought to call fisher-price about this so I may just do that! In all honesty it's not that annoying to me and my son could care less that it clicks since it doesn't do it every time we turn it on (usually only in the interactive mode) and on ours it only clicks for the first few minutes and then stops. Also it took probably about 2 months for the toy bar to start doing this so I didn't experience this as soon as others did.

My only other grief with the toy is that the toy bar does seem to be set very low on the seat. Usually this causes the hanging toys to be pushed up and away from my son by his legs so he can't reach them to grab them. Again he could care less since he LOVES kicking his legs and this works equally as well to activate every thing.

All in all it's a great toy that my son loves and I do too. As a matter of fact one of his first smiles was in this seat, I looked over and he was just staring and smiling at the little animals going back and forth one day. It's very easy to use especially with the removable toy bar making it easier to get baby in and out. It also makes my life more convenient and gives me a safer, more entertaining, and out of the way place to put my son than the floor when I need both of my hands to do something.
