Great product!

Bought the LX to clear up my very small corner desk top by floating my monitor in the air and raising up the screen level to save my posture and neck. While you may think that the monitor stand that comes with your monitor takes up very little space, you will be surprised just how much desk space you will recoup by raising it off your desk! Since my small corner desk has to double as a full work desk as well as a computer desk, it is essential to me that the monitor can be moved completely out of the way when I am not using the computer, and with the LX I can essentially move my flat panel to the wall behind my desk like a framed picture with nothing on my desk! Also, if you have multiple computer users in your house/office, you understand that everyone likes their monitor in a different position - the LX accommodates everyone perfectly!

I first bought the Ergotron Neo-Flex as it looked like it would fulfill my needs for less than $100. Unfortunately, I have a corner desk and even with the extension it just didn't have the reach to get both close enough and high enough for me. If you have a very shallow desk (about 2' or less) the Neo-Flex works great, but any desk deeper than 2' will preclude you from getting the monitor in a comfortable position for your back, neck and shoulders.

I bit the bullet and upgraded to the LX: No adjustment buttons to push to make the monitor move - just grasp monitor with both hands and move it in a myriad of directions - just like the rectangular light the dentist uses right above your face (with the handle on either side that attaches to the ceiling via an articulating arm). While it is about $20-$40 more than the Neo-Flex, it is worth every penny. There are other arms that are available that cost $200 and more that are really fancy but are overkill - I strongly believe that the LX is the best value for a fully articulating LCD arm, and I have done a lot (probably too much) research on these.....

I would never go back to a monitor stand. Installation very simple, had it up and running and fully adjusted in less than 15 minutes. No regrets!
