Good idea, horribly executed.
Pros:
Prints nice color labels on CDs and DVDs.
Cons:
Doesn't do much of anything without major user interaction.
The Bottom Line:
I cannot recommend this printer, especially if you are thinking of buying it for the CD printing function. This printer is a headache to use.

Author's Review
I've had the displeasure of owning three of these and they all had the same problems. I bought the printer for one purpose and only one purpose, to print on CDs and DVDs. Each and every one of them had suffered from the same problems, they cannot do the job without a major amount of babysitting.
First, the good thing about the printer. It prints on CDs. As far as text or pictures, there are other printers out there that perform those basic printing tasks as well or better. There are also printers that will do it cheaper, since Epsons ink is priced outrageously high as is the ink from most companies. Ink prices finally got so close to the price of oil or gold that I finally bought a Brother laser printer and cut my costs from 5 cents a print to 1. Still, this printer will print high quality labels on CDs and for that I am willing to buy the ink.
One other thing about the ink situation before I move on. There is a red light on the control panel that will go on when Epson thinks you are out of ink and need to pay through the nose for more. There is NO way to turn this light off or even to tell the printer that you will judge when you need to buy ink. Epson, it turns out, is far more interested in advertising more ink than giving you a good machine that you can enjoy using the way that YOU want to use it.
So, the only reason to have the printer, in my case, is to print CDs. Does the printer do this easily and efficiently? Absolutely not! Each and every time you try to print a CD, the first print will fail. The printer will move the CD tray out of the proper position for printing and then complain that the CD tray is out of place. That's right, the printer misaligns the tray and then refuses to print because of it's own misalignment. Not only that, but when you put the tray back, you cannot just tell the printer monitor that the tray is back in place and have it continue. NO! You end up having to manually cancel the print and start over! This ridiculous procedure takes place each and every time you start printing CDs. If you happen to be printing more than one, it will print those following the first with no problem.
Now, you would think that Epson would fix these problems, either through hardware improvements or a software update, right? Wrong! I have owned three of these printers (no, I didn't personally buy all of them), and the problems are the same with all of them. Epson has released several software updates and none of them fix the problems.
Then, there is the software installation. There are graphics that Epson gives you with the Print CD software, but these graphics will not install without manual help. Even if you tell the software installation to install the graphics, they don't show up. You have to install the software and then manually add the graphics from the CD to the folders on your computer. The folders are put there by the installer, but for some strange reason, they are empty.
I have called Epson tech support more than once about these issues and, as is true of most product support these days, they have no answers and offer no help.
