2001 Dodge Neon
Date of Review: Jun 22, 2008
The Bottom Line: This car is very reliable and cheap so I would recommend it to anyone with a small budget.
I happen to have a 2001 dodge neon. It has 132000 miles on it. The biggest problem I have had is the starter stopped working. This car does have all the normal wear and tear problems like any other car out there on the market. If you are looking for a Neon that is problem free make sure to check if the car has had regular tune-ups and a oil change every 3,000 miles, if it has then your Neon will run great for a long long time. Oh yeah, I cant forget to mention this car is great on gas! I get an estimated 33.4 miles to the gallon! The car has about a 12 gallon gas tank which will take you about 400.8 miles. This is my car and I have a lot of weight in the trunk so my mileage might be lower then yours. This car is great and I totally recommend it to anyone especially with the way gas prices are and how reliable this car is.
Here are some minor problems I have had: The belt tensioner has broken off (Only the plastic wheel part) and I can not find a place that sells one. So now I have to deal with the squealing of the belt slipping. Also my AC has stopped working because of were the hose was placed. One of the hoses is next to the belt so if the hose moves a little bit and the belt slips a little it will cut the hose allowing all the AC coolant to pour out. Also, the starter has gone in my car but that was an easy and cheap fix.
