Silent; puts out good heat; a bit slow

This is a nice, effective heater. It doesn't warm up fast and blast you like a ceramic heater with a fan, but this is great for bedrooms and other places where you'd prefer not to have hot air blown in your face or the steady drone of a fan. We use it in our finished basement, which is our entertainment center. It's a huge space, and perhaps a bit larger than ideal for a heater like this, but at least it doesn't scare the dog! We purchased another one for the bedroom, where it really shines.

The heater has a timer, which is useful if used at regular intervals, but I've had problems in the past with an earlier model that ended up melting the plug feature. I would generally suggest unplugging space heaters when they're not being actively used. The casters are helpful for moving this b/c it's heavy. It's basically like having a baseboard heater though, that is, you don't want to be moving this around too much. It may be a little bit of an overkill in terms of weight and money if you are just warming up one person or a small space. I use a radiant heater for that.
