Review: When we first got cable access, we needed a DOCSIS compliant cable modem and the first name I thought of was D-Link. Why? Well, I have been using D-Link hubs, switches and network cards since the days of Windows 95 and Mandrake 5 so I figured this...

Pros: Speed, solid connection, easy to update firmware.
Cons: Having to update the firmware.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this D-link product.

Review: I was planning converting from DSL to cable internet and I did not want to buy a modem from Comcast at about $140.00. I finally settled on this modem for two reasons. 1. My network includes a D-link router and D-link wireless cards and I assumed...

Pros: Unknown...
Cons: Incompatible out-of-the-box with Comcast!
The Bottom Line: Everybody else's product IS compatible with Comcast without having to spend an hour attempting to (unsuccesfuly) reconfigure the modem's firmware! Get something- ANYTHING else. It is money well spent.

Review: First, let me say that I LIKE D-Link's products alot. Thier router configured itself even before the CD tray retracted! And thier KVM Switch is on par with units costing hundreds more!

Pros: Works right out of the box. The D-Link DCM-202 broadband cable modem is fast.
Cons: Gets a little hot if stacked upon another power consuming device.
The Bottom Line: This modem works out of the box, is DOCSIS 2.0 compatible, meaning it will work with many Internet Service Providers. It is fast and is versatile.

Review: I purchased this modem back in October. It cost me $54, but it promised a $20 rebate. I received the product in Mid July 2006 and I sent the rebate. Today, December 20, I still have not received the rebate. I called their rebate center back in...

Pros: Although bad for heat dissipation, I guess it's stylish.
Cons: It does not work continuously. Dies sporadically and does not recover. Terrible interface.
The Bottom Line: It's not worth $1 to me. It does not operate as continuously as I need a cable modem to operate. It's that simple.

Review: I recently moved and this meant that I had to replace the cable modem I was borrowing. I own a DI-524 Wireless Router that has been functional if not completely delightful. Let's just say I've had even more horrifying experiences with other routers...

Pros: Small, Compact size Had a good rebate
Cons: Un-reliable problematic modem. Gets really HOT when laying on it's side.
The Bottom Line: Get SMC model SMC8004CM instead. This D-Link DCM-202 is a pain. Unfortunately the SMC8004CM is not found on epinions at the time of this writing.
