Sony Cyber-Shot = Great Buy
Date of Review: Aug 21, 2007
The Bottom Line: I sing this camera's praises every time I pull it out... which is often. This camera is always on me. Highly Recommended.
My first digital camera, a 2 mega pixel Sony Cyber-Shot, was a high school graduation present from my Dad. I loved my camera and, for 2 MP resolution capabilities, it produced great photos. Five years down the road I decided to make an upgrade. I was confident that I wanted to go with another Cyber-Shot and, in retrospect, I am very glad that I did. I paid approximately the same price for a more aesthetically pleasing and extremely advanced version of the camera I had previously owned and loved.
My DSC-W5 is absolutely perfect. In addition to an automatic setting for every possible situation, there are a variety of manual controls as well... yet, it is fairly easy to operate.
What I love about my camera:
1. My pictures come out great every time. I have taken some really amazing shots. My prints are always crisp, sharp, and vibrant... slightly reminiscent of prints produced via film.
2. Large (Approximately true color) LCD.
3. Macro Capabilities.
4. It's pretty
Overall, this is one of the most affordable high quality digital cameras on the market. I am thoroughly content with my 5.1 MP Cyber-Shot. I won't be upgrading from this one until Apple makes a wicked cool digital camera (the icamera... surely it is coming) with internet access and instant picture/video sharing capabilities - as it plays music and brushes your teeth.
