Dangerous malfunction before 3 years old.
Date of Review: Jan 15, 2006
The Bottom Line: Compared to other units in this price range it offers electronic precision with knob control. Very attractive unit. ENDED IN FLAMES - STUCK IN TOASTING MODE.
FYI - This toaster oven DOES NOT have Convection Cooking as stated in Epinion's title. Updated 10/21/2006 and 8/28/2007 and 8/1/2008 when it malfunctioned and caused a flash fire.

****I Do Not Recommend as of 8/2008 - dangerous operation flaw resulting in overheat condition and fire.****
A new and potentially dangerous behavior occurred last night. The unit was in toast mode, and it failed to stop toasting. I was not in the room, shame on me, but when I returned to check, the toaster was REDICULOUS hot. Upon opening the door the toast burst into flames. I quickly unplugged the unit and let it cool down.
I decided to throw this away rather than claim the warranty. I searched the net and found another user who had this same thing happen. I'd suspect there is a flaw in the temp sensor and it goes 'rogue' and superheats. This isn't something I'm going to mess with.
Complaint filed with Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Besides this, the unit was acceptable. I liked the style, it worked well. It tended to cook items quickly. The door began to stick when the unit was about 2 1/2 years old. I had to push it closed.
