Crane Frog Has Worked Great For Us

We've been using this humidifier for 8 months now in our son’s room with no problems. The amount of mist is easy to control and has a wide range. With our use it runs about 2 days between fillings. I do use a water additive to reduce lime buildup. We clean the unit about once a week and have had virtually no lime buildup (your amount of lime buildup will depend on the hardness of your water). Since the unit has no filter you could use filtered water to help but we have not done so. Like another reviewer we use the unit elevated on a hard surface, but I have seen the unit work on the floor. The unit shuts it self off when it runs out of water. Overall I have no real complaints.
