The sound was good, but the CD player didn't function well at all. The lens couldn't read the CDs, I guess; it would begin playing find then have episodes of pausing...and then just quit altogether. Almost as if it wanted to tease, it would work nearly perfectly one day, then the next it would stutter and stall then completely quit. This was with squeaky-clean CDs, no movement or vibration on the shelf -- it just wouldn't play the CDs. I wouldn't recommend it at all.
