Chi: It does make a difference

I've always been a cheapskate when it comes to purchasing flatirons and I've always been disappointed with the results. My hair was always ok at first, but as the day went on, it would be become fuzzy again or the ends would flip up. So, I splurged on a CHI and now I understand why people love them so much.

It heats up very quickly and the cord is great because it doesn't tangle easily. My hair is very, very smooth, straight and sleek after using this. However, you have to use a type of hair protectant spray before using the iron; otherwise, you will burn and damage your hair. I don't have to go back over sections of hair like I did with cheaper irons. This one does it right the first time. After some practice, you'll be able to use it to do different styles. It's easy (after some practice) to flip up the ends or makes waves. Again, you have to be careful or you might burn your hand or your hair.

Unfortunately, there is no temp control and it is very easy to burn yourself. I burned my hand very bad and if you hold it too long on your hair, you can easily damage your hair. Also, it's very pricey. I would recommend borrowing one if you can before you plunk down the serious cash for this iron to make sure you really, really like it. I borrowed a friend's first to try it and I'm glad I did.
