Great beginner smoker / grill

This smoker worked pretty well right out of the box. the one I purchased has bamboo for all the wood, which is a really nice bonus. It took about 1 hour to put together with a friend. after cooking on it with great success 2 or 3 times I made some modifications found on the Internet as well as some I thought of. Especially I added a heat shield to the larger box to direct the heat from the fire box more evenly.

I have not used this smoker as grill yet as my main purpose for getting it was to smoke meat.

I like this smoker a lot and it is a nice addition to my deck.

After some carefull research I use pre-fired charcoal and hardwood to heat the smoker, kingsford actually being easier to manage than hardwood lump charcoal.
