Author's Review
I usually read lots of reviews and pay high attention to tech-data and articles before making any purchase. Well, this time I skipped the rule. While heading to the store, I was determined to purchase the T9 Sony camera when I run onto the Casio EX-Z850 one. I still don't know what caught my attention, it was definitely not the 'Casio' brand which I have never considered for an electronic device (was it the 8.1 megapixel thing?, well I'm not sure). There was online connection at the store, so I checked instantly over the ZDnet and Epinions sites for any review. Well, at the time there was no online review and the store had just received the merchandise (this is a brand new cam), they hadn't even placed an exhibit camera. So it was all on my judgement. After 20-25 minutes I decided to buy it without beeing sure whether I had made the right decision or not (compared to the T9 camera). [what drove my decision was mostly the 2.8 apperture capability and the 8.1 resolution thing]
Conclusion: It's a fantastic digital camera. (and I've had many of those and many SLRs). Great resolution (no more 'blurry' leaves when you take photos of long distance trees!), great colors (apperture 2.8!!!), very easy to use, huge LCD, very light (130g) [the T9 while thinner is 140g!] and professional functions [ you can even take a photo with manual setting of apperture and speed]. The ready to use photo modes (35 !) are excellent and cover most of your intended photo shootings. Needless to talk about the battery. I had been using the camera for 3-4 days and the battery had still long way to go. As for the video, I haven;t used it that much yet. To the extent that I've used it has been performing great.
Well, to make a long story short, this is an amazing camera. I highly recommend it. [and by the way it was cheaper than the T9 50 Euros approximately. Enjoy.
