Ok, i have always been a fan of the captain's spiced rum. So when i first saw this in the liqour store i was like why would anyone pay more so this "tattoo" rum. Well one day, my best friend shows up with this "tattoo" rum, i was a little reserved in using it over the spiced rum for my rum and coke, but this was all we had. Lets just say i was amazed at that taste. That first sip, i thought it was joke, wheres the alcohol i asked? so my friend added more. Same thing, still a fruity taste (what a treat). Even though this rum was fruity and great tasting, i must admit, it packs a captain sized punch.
After that first captain and coke, i decided this need to be tried neat. WOW, my first reaction, i could not believe the taste of this stuff. I added just a splash of coke, and that was all this sweet rum needed.
This is a unique rum, i have yet to find one that matches its quality, and taste. It is something that one has to be in the mood for, their are times when this can be way to fruity. I believe that the life of this rum has really yet to start. I say give this a few years to be discovered, and this will be the next big thing.
Do yourself a favor, go out, and pick up a bottle. It may cost you a few more dollars then the spiced rum, but it is a great change of pace rum. Enjoy, i know i will.
