Pros: Durable, good pictures, many settings but still simple
Cons: Battery life low, expensive (very)
The Bottom Line: Overall, I believe this is an excellent camera that is especially durable and is high quality. This camera is made for anyone with a [destructive] young son.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Upon first taking my SD700 camera out of the box, I was surprised. First, for a small camera, it took CF-2 (Compact Flash), which is really big for a camera like this. I paid $650 CDN for the camera, but it was worth it.

Pros: Superior imaging, good speed, beautiful solid styling, complete feature set for compact.
Cons: Could use somekind of ISO prioritization in auto mode. View finder is in the center.
The Bottom Line: Great compact with Image Stabilization. The construction is solid, styling is great, feature set is quite complete and most imporant, the image quality has not been compromised.

Review: Very nice styling on the body of this camera. Looks and feels like quality workmanship from the moment you open the box. I bought the camera for my wife because she is a point-and-shoot kinda gal. She loves the camera and finds the features and menu...

Review: I chose this model because I have always been happy with my Canon cameras and the on-line reviews rated it as excellent but pricey, then waited 3 months for the price to come down closer to about $300. After shooting 600 photos in all modes and...

Pros: Small size, great picture quality, Image stabilization, easy to use
Cons: video could be sharper but I don't know if this is possible
The Bottom Line: I cannot imagine a higher quality camera of this size. It would be hard to take a bad photo with this camera after basic familiarization.

Review: I bought my SD700 IS for use at my daughters wedding. I wanted good quality pictures, flexibility, image stabilization and small size. I used the camera for about a week before the big event and even with limited time on with the camera my pictures...

Review: This camera replaced my first digital camera (some bulky 3mp Toshiba PDR with 1" display). It gave me a great sense of freedom to make a shot anytime anywhere, since it's small size allowed to always keep it with me, and fast shutter speed allowed...

Pros: Quality, ergonomics, settings, image stabilization, zoom, resolution, fast
Cons: Price, high ISO noise, battery life with IS and LCD
The Bottom Line: This camera would be on every reviewer's top 5 list for best compact camera. If you can find it for a good price, but it. You won't be dissapointed.

Review: [LCD and Viewing]
The SD700 comes with a 2.5" LCD. The resolution is better than previous models and it looks nice. However, it appears to scratch easily (the LCD is recessed 1mm or 2) and appears to be similar in LCD build to my coolpix... |

Pros: Small size, great battery life without LCD on, image stabilisation
Cons: Mode wheel is hard to use, ISO800 and Auto ISO Hi aren't really useful
The Bottom Line: Great everyday camera, even for serious enthusiasts

Review: I've wanted this model since I heard it would be out, and now I've got it. The Ixus 800IS is currently the top of the line for the Ixus family, with the other two Ixus models being promoted by Canon being the Ixus60 and Ixus65.
