Author's Review

Just received this scanner today. It was $47.00 from amazon.com. I did not install the software from the included CD-ROM. Instead I went to Canon's web site and downloaded the latest code. There were two parts to the download:

1. The scanner driver, and
2. The CanoScan Toolbox

I am using this scanner on a Macintosh, running the latest version (10.3.3) of OS X. The installation was fine. I had to restart the computer after doing the installation.

The CanoScan software is extremely easy to use. I am very pleased with the quality of the scans for such a low-priced device. The only down side is that the scanner is pretty noisy, but that is a minor concern.
