OK but not great

Date of Review:  Oct 10, 2004
The Bottom Line: I recommend these with slight reservations which might not be applicable for your intended use.
Review: These binos are good for getting up close and personal with intended objects. The IS works reasonably well and the image is clear. The ability to see across the water for miles the great detail and the view of the moon is nothing less than...

money well spent

Date of Review:  Sep 27, 2005
The Bottom Line: Go with the 15x50IS - the field of view is too narrow on the 18x50IS and they are otherwise the same. Definitely buy IS binoculars!
Review: If you intend to spend a chunk of money on a GOOD pair of binoculars and are looking at high end names like Zeis or Swarovski then you owe it to yourself to consider spending some of that money on the gyro stabilized canon 15x50IS model. I also have...

Sets The Standard For Handheld Viewing

Date of Review:  Mar 14, 2006
The Bottom Line: High magnification, excellent performance and stable viewing in a handheld instrument makes this a "must-have" for astronomers.
Review: I've been using the Canon 15x50 IS for about a month now, mostly for nighttime stargazing. I've been using high quality 10x50, 8x56 and 7x50 binoculars for this purpose for over a decade. Binoculars offer wide views and bright images for backyard...

Canon 15x50IS Binoculars

Date of Review:  May 29, 2004
The Bottom Line: I find these to be an excellent product. You won't be disappointed. Optics on par with more expensive binos and IS to boot.
Review: Having owned or viewed through virtually every brand of binocular out there, I guess you could consider me somewhat of a binogeek. I purchased the Canons primarily for astronomy, but find them great for terrestrial use as well.

First off,...

Canon 15 X 50 IS AW

Date of Review:  Oct 31, 2000
Review: I evaluated the Canon 15 X 50 IS AW's for 2 weeks. They are a well constructed with ergonomics in mind. The new stabilization button is a great improvement from the former models. The focus knob is smooth a silk. The size, weight, feel, design and...

Excellent Binoculars!

Date of Review:  Jul 26, 2002
The Bottom Line: Excellent Binoculars. Shop around online for a good price.
Review: I bought these binoculars for daytime and astronomical night viewing. I just spent an hour using them at lunch and am extremely impressed with their optical quality. I find that I can handhold them relatively well, and with the stabilization on, the...
