Bumbo my baby!

The Bottom Line: Great product, wonderful chair for baby!
I received my son's bumbo seat as a baby shower gift. It's something I can't imagine having lived without! I'm able to put my son in his seat and attach the detatchable tray, and he can play and play.
Use of the seat
Where to begin. My son first used the bumbo seat just to sit in. I'd hand him a toy and he'd get the pleasure of sitting upright and playing and not being on his back all the time. HAPPY BABY!
I then was searching the internet a few months ago and discovered a tray is available for the bumbo seat. Off to the store we went and home we came with the tray! Now my son can play in his bumbo seat without dropping toys so often! YIPPEE! HAPPY MOMMY!
So then it came time for cereal. My son was barely 3 months old when our peditrician recommended spoon feeding cereal due to his reflux. The bumbo seat allows my son to sit upright in a fairly form fitting seat designed for young sitters. With the detachable tray, I was able to "catch" a lot of his cereal he spit out versus it going all over our carpet, his outfit, or me if I was holding him in my lap. Again, HAPPY HAPPY MOMMY!
Now that my son is 7 months old, he can nose dive out of the bumbo. He can also remove the tray by himself so I do keep a very close eye on him while he's in the seat. It's a great place to sit him and let him watch a Baby Einstein DVD because those entertain him and he's fairly contained.
Features
The bumbo sitter comes in a variety of colors, purple, yellow, green, pink, blue and a tourquoise. It's recommended for children up to 22 pounds and as long as your baby can hold their head up on their own, they can use the bumbo seat. The manufacturer states that the seat can be continue to be used as long as your child can fit into it.
The bumbo seat should not be used anywhere except for on the floor as it is not meant to restrain your child. Just assist them with sitting upright. My son can crawl out of his, so again, only use it on the floor.
The seat is made of polyurethane. It's soft and cushy, not a hard plastic. No bumps or bruises on your baby from the actual seat.
Recall
The bumbo seat was recently recalled, or actually it's packaging was recalled to add a label to advise parents not to use it on elevated surfaces. The seat itself already contained a label printed on the back of it, however they wanted a clearer warning. Always watch your child while in this seat, is my recommendation. My son does face plants out of it from time to time.
Overall Opinion
This is a great chair for baby! My son can sit upright and play with his toys. We use it as our portable high chair when traveling, and it's small and compact, doesn't take a lot of room in the car. Works quite well and I would highly recommend it to other moms!
