The music you have been waiting for

I’ve been searching for music that both relaxes me, and keeps me on my toes listening to every word. I think I found it.

I was in a car with a friend from work when she played a song. It was unlike anything I have ever heard before. The voice was calm. The melody was soothing. Who was this man singing to me?
None other than Jack Johnson. The song that changed it all for me was Flake. I’m getting so tired of the rap rock phenomenon. I just want to sit and relax listening to some good tunes.

Naturally after my friend drops me off I get in my car and drive to buy the CD. I had to have it.
From top to bottom this CD is awesome.

Every song has the ability to get you to sing along. That is if you can keep up with him. Jack has a knack for putting a lot of words in one song. Trying to sing along can be challenging. Its amazing how you can sing along in your head but once you try to sing the words out loud they don’t fall off your tongue with half as much grace as Jack Johnson.

My FAVORITE Tracks are:
Posters- it’s an inspiring song about how the posters on the wall don’t really look like anyone realistic. People aspire to be like these idols and find themselves chasing a dream that isn’t reality.

Bubble Toes—Very cute song. Most likely JJ was in love when he wrote it. You can FEEL what he was thinking. Upbeat and strong.

Flake-This song started it for me. “Maybe/ Pretty much always means no” I think everyone has thought this at one point or another. When someone you are trying to make plans with says maybe you know you are setting yourself up for him or her to bail on plans. Again, Jack makes you feel as if you can relate to him.

Mudfootball—Get me to Hawaii! I want to have sand in my toes and play football. I will meet Kimmy at the sugar mill. This song makes me want to go back to my childhood and make it BETTER. He makes you long for the days of waiting for the school bus and pretending to be sick so you can hang out with your friends all day.

If you are into Dave Matthews or John Mayer you will appreciate this CD even more. Two thumbs up for Jack. Keep the hits coming and we will keep begging for more!
