Author's Review
In my quest to finding the perfect convertible carseat for my infant, the Britax Roundabout received an A+.
In order of importance, my basic requirements for finding the right carseat were as follows: Safety (harness type, tether, recall rate), Child Comfort (recline positions, cushioning), Installation Method (fit, ease of install and adjustment), Design (portability, lightweight, carseat cover design/colors). And although I didn't mention it on my list, it of course had to be front and rear facing. That's why I narrowed my carseat quest down to 'convertible' carseats.
The Britax Roundabout of course met all of the above needs. It had the 5 point harness which I was looking for, tether straps that can be used both rear facing and forward facing, and as far as my research goes, no recalls have been found in my research.
The carset is easy to install, remove and adjust. The seat fits snuggly onto the seat of my vehicle, making it even more secure.
I found the carseat to be lightweight for a convertible carseat. It has excellent recline positions that prevent my sons head from dangling forward while sleeping, the positions are easily adjustable. Lastly, the Roundabout seat cover comes in a number of colors and designs. I personally love the look and feel of the sandstone cover - and I believe my son is quite comfortable in the seat.
