The Bottom Line: The acoustic wave combines lifelike, room filling sound, small size and incredible simplicity to offer the music lover an unforgettable experience.
When the acoustic wave got home it had the job of testing out my Eagles, Hell Freezes Over DVD. I hooked up a set of Monster RCA cables to the audio input and had my dvd sound running through the Acoustic Wave. The sound was incredible, Henley's voice soared and you could hear every nuance of the very soft classical guitar work on "Hotel California". The bass punch from the Conga drums and bass guitar was more than adequate and could be felt in my furniture at high volumes. I have had very complicated systems in the past, for instance, recievers with 30 preset sound modes plus a manual equalizer, remotes I had to program and speakers that were much too big for the alotted house space. I have recently found that the acoustic wave gives me much better performance than my previous Aiwa and Panasonic shelf systems. The panasonic was $600 and Aiwa $400. So the lower cost I'm sure contributed to the lower quality of sound on those units. I found the ACW's sound to be very rich and full even at lower volumes, you can also hear so many details and new timbres of instruments I never have heard before. It equalizes everything for you so there isn't a manual equalizer. I found that very convenient. The Acoustic Wave gives the proper tonal balance according to what type of music you're listening too. This is a high-end product with an appropriate price-tag. All the simplicity is on the outside an the incredibly complex engineering that makes it sound so good is on the inside. If you are an audio-layman or even an audiophile who appreciates lifelike sound with natural bass, this is a wonderful system. Bose makes it affordable by offering interest-free monthly installments also.
