A great girl book!

The Bottom Line: Fun Fun Fun!
I read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and I absolutely fell in love with it. The characters in the book are easy to relate to, as are the adversities that they have faced. It tells the story of four girls who grew up together, and as they grow older, they refuse to grow apart. The themes of sisterhood and the love between friends are really important for everyone to grasp, and I think this book would help to cement these ideals into the minds of younger girls. The author, Ann Brashares, also focuses on acceptance, acceptance of others and people of other races. This book is great for young adults, as there is hardly any sexual content outside of kissing. Topics covered in the book are the death of a friend, first loves, first heartbreak, accepting yourself as you are, as well as divorce and remarriage.
Reading this book made me want to go out to a thrift store and buy my own Traveling Pants for my friends to share. It gave me a good feeling, and made me appreciate my friends and family.
