Pros: It accomplished the goal without much difficulty.
Cons: Long and pointless.
The Bottom Line: Most people would appear to have liked Great Expectations, but I sure didn't care for it. It was merely okay, as I expected it to be.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I was in the mood for some fiction, just so that I could get a refresher as to why it is I dislike the majority of it. I was fortunate to not have to look far, resulting in my expectations being met, although, not in a great way. When I finished...

Review: What is it that sets the great authors apart from the rest of the pack? Is it that they are great storytellers? They must be, to be sure, but more is required than the simple ability to regale an enthralling tale to elevate an author to revered...

Pros: Wonderful Dickens wit and prose with a powerful finish
Cons: starts off a little slow
The Bottom Line: This book is excellent. It starts off a little slow but it is just Dickens building a plot and story that will make you a better person for reading it.

Review: I once attempted to read this book several years ago in middle school. It lacked the stimulus that my young mind needed to maintain focus long enough to get in to it, hence, it was shelved and other books such as "The Hardy Boys" and "Storm...

Pros: Characters. Plot.
Cons: Prose. Yuck.
The Bottom Line: would give up on the girl.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Charles Dickens' Great Expectations reads like a Victorian Catcher in the Rye. It's in first-person perspective; the character is naive and irresponsible but bright and goodwilling. Several of his sentences wouldn't currently be...

Cons: A very disappointing ending.

Pros: plot, narrative, humor
Cons: nothing in particular
The Bottom Line: A good novel although probably not Dickens's best
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Charles Dickens s Great Expectations lacks the expansiveness of his A Tale of two cities . The story is based largely in rural England until the scene shifts to London. Except for a minor interlude in Denmark, this is where it stays. It remains the...

Pros: Good plot, and writing.
Cons: In some places there's too much description, and lack of it in other places.
The Bottom Line: If you like Dickens' other work, you'll more than likely enjoy this classic. Just don't expect it to be his best.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Great expectations was first published in a newspaper over a space of weeks. that s while you ll find in different chapters that it seems like dickens is reminding you of the characters, because after a week, people forgot different characters.

Pros: The themes, and true meanings will not affect you until your late 20's
Cons: You will probably have to read it in HS and will hate it.
The Bottom Line: If you read it too young, you wont get it... if you are out on your own, you will see why people love it.

Pros: Incredible development of the characters of Estella and Pip
Cons: None
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Great Expectations is essentially about Pip?s ascension through society, the development of his selfhood, and his realization of which people actually care about him. Pip would not have to worry about any of these issues if it were not for Estella?s...

Pros: Very inspirational and motivating
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: A book about personal growth of a spoiled brat who learns to know many things, besides that money can't buy happiness.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Great Expectations is Dickens's 13th novel, written in first person narrative. Phillip Pirrip-Pip is the narrator of his own story, in which he exhibits the growth of personality.
His story begins with a mournful impression the foggy... |
