Can't Get It to Work

I bought this cable thinking it would be easy to transfer, and if the cable was connected to both computers, we would be able to see what needed transfer from just one computer screen. Not so. In order for this to work, we need to have two monitors, two keyboards etc. So for those people that reuse their monitors on their new computer, it's a no go.


The first time, I tried to transfer the data by plugging the monitor to the first computer, then plugging it into the next. I finally got disgusted, and reached for my stack of CDs.


A few years later, I hauled an old monitor from another room into the office, and hooked them both up. I had to find a a spare connection in my surge suppressor, and finally plugged the think into the wall. Unfortunately,the second monitor wouldn't work.


So once again, I grabbed for my backup. This time a ClickFree.


So, unless they can come up with some programming that will allow us to open a screen from both computers on the same monitor, I say save your money. Instead, I suggest putting it toward a Clickfree or similar backup. That way, you data will be saved in a form you can simply plug in the USB cable and copy.


Maybe this would work if you're transferring from your laptop to your desktop, but desktop to desktop, I can't recommend it.
