Belkin "Easy Transfer" cable is not easy.

The idea behind this product is that it will allow you to easily and quickly transfer all of your files and setting from one computer to another.

I used this cable to transfer files from my old computer running XP Home to my new computer running Vista. It worked great for that, although it did take awhile. To be fair, I transferred about 25GB of data in less than 2 hours.

To transfer data from VISTA back to XP, you have to install the included software (on both computers) which is difficult to use and set up.

IT WILL NOT WORK if you try to use it with Windows 2000. It is ONLY good for XP and VISTA.

Overall, I think that it was a waste of money. I paid approximately $34.00 at Wal-Mart, thinking that I could use it to transfer files from any computer to any other. Because you have to install the software and set it up on any computer you use, it is not practical for daily use on any PC. Also, as I said, it only works with XP and VISTA.

If you are computer-savvy at all, I would recommend buying a "crossover" networking cable that will allow you to transfer files, NOT the Belkin "Easy Transfer."
