Author's Review

Barron's has quickly become one of my favorite weekly periodicals. At first I was turned off by its size and confusing page numbering system (it differentiates between ordinary page numbers and "Market Watch" page numbers in a special section). But as I have read its expert advice and watched stocks recommended by Barron's shoot up, I have grown to respect it greatly. It is usually right on point, delving into financial issues on my mind. Often, it shows me issues I hadn't even thought of. The magazine is timely, its covers engaging and the one point of color in the magazine, and its headlines are humorous. Its regular roundtable discussions by finance gurus keep me appraised of general market conditions and prospects for the future. Barron's had the courage and some valid evidence to call Amazon, "Amazon.bomb," when everyone else was praising the company. Barron's is unafraid to challenge the status quo, and it is often right. It covers mutual funds, offers editorials, as well as plenty of charts and graphs for those who prefer stats.
