I was trying to rack my brain about doing a review on something that I could feel some passion about and not just ramble on a bunch of words together hoping that some people would rate it so I could make my ? penny off of it. Then I saw my BIC Wite Out Extra Coverage sitting on my computer desk. Here was an piece of c*ap that I could be passionate about. I was shocked to see that no one had done a review on this particular Wite Out and decided it was my time to shine.
My first questions that I am going to pose to you, is "What exactly is "Extra Coverage" when it comes to Wite Out?" I mean if it is already that bad, then shouldn't you just start all over? Well I do. Yes, everyone out there that is reading this, I have a bit of perfectionism inside of me. So when there is that mistake or two, I tend to not use Wite Out but throw out the paper and start over again. Then I realized that Trees everywhere were crying for me to stop so I went up to my local Office Max and bought some Wite Out.
Now the second question that I would also like to pose to you is, what can be said about Wite Out? It either works or it sucks, but there really isn't an in between. You don't tell other people at work that they can borrow your wite out but sometimes it doesn't work very well and if you are saying that then you aren't using the right wite out in the first place.

MY REVIEW, I think So now I am supposed to review BIC Wite Out Extra Coverage. I am befunggled (my own word for confused) about this "Extra Coverage" thing and I guess I am not ready to let it go yet. What do you need that "Extra Coverage" for that a Regular Base BIC Wite Out wouldn't take care of? If that Regular Base BIC Wite Out isn't working than why are they still producing it in mass quantities and selling it in every Staples and Office Max in the country.
So shouldn't there be one Wite Out by Bic? None of this "smooth" or "extra coverage" or "quick dry" or "base" needs to be made into many different packages. Can't there just be one wite out that does it all; it leaves a smooth surface rather than clumpy one on your paper, gives you that extra coverage (I don't know how to reply to that one) that you need so badly, can quick dry rather than you sit there waving your paper in the air back and forth and blowing on it hastily, and lastly why sell a base if you have all these other products out there? To me, it means that BIC has been one of the smartest companies out there and somehow the consumers, including me, are buying into this scam. The scam of the wite out pens, wite tape, and the old trusty wite out bottle that isn't all that trust worthy anymore.
Now I bought this BIC Wite Out Extra Coverage at Office Max because it was on sale and I think I may have paid $.89 cents for it. I didn't take the time to notice what kind of Wite Out I was buying but when I got it home I thought it really wouldn't make a difference in the long run anyways. Wite Out is Wite Out and it will work when I need it in those moments of laziness on my perfectionism. WRONG!!!!

DETAILS ON THE BOTTLE: BIC Wite Out Extra Coverage comes in a .7 fl. Oz. just like all the other wite outs that they sell. This particular one is green and bright yellow for a logo design as you can see above in the picture provided. In the front it calims to have "Extra Coverage" and be a "Correction Fluid." Now the back of the bottles states this:
Color: White
(isn't that why it is called wite out, oh I think that is the same as the directions on your shampoo bottle of lather and rinse, how do you not know how to do that? Do you really need directions for it? And if you do need directions that obviously someone else in the household is helping you out anyways and they already know to lather and rinse.) But back to Color which is WHITE. You are well aware of the WHITE color now that is in print about as big as 2.5 font level.
The only directions I see are: Shake Well Before Use
(does that mean that all the good part of the wite out just hits the bottom of the bottle and if you forget to shake it up, you are screwed? Finally The CAUTION: FLAMMABLE with these listings underneath: 1)
Keep away from fire or flame (which most people tend to do with their objects instinctively anyways) 2)
Keep away from Children (so if it isn't okay for kids to play and possibly put in their mouths does that mean we should be inhaling this stuff and using it in the first place???) But then….
3)
Do not Swallow or Inhale (Well that basically means that while you are brushing on your wite out, be sure to hold your breath and do not use it as if it is a cocktail to drink) 4)
WARNING: Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating or inhaling contents can be harmful or fatal
(First of all that doesn't exactly make me feel comfortable. Am I supposed to hold my breath while the "Extra Coverage" works it's so called magic because I screwed up and didn't buy the "Quick Dry?" But then what if I needed that "Extra Coverage," basically I am in trouble. The saddest part of this warning is the fact that they have to put it on there along with the others, because you know due to legalities they have to. There was some "bright" teen that got the idea to switch from inhaling whip cream bottles to sniffing wite out products since they were slightly cheaper than the whip cream.) That is everything on the bottle pretty much, except that it was made in the U.S.A. with some item # and their copyright of BIC.

HOW IT WORKS It doesn't. Plain and simple. It doesn't work, at least not as correction "fluid" because their is nothing "flowing from the sponge tip" of this bottle. I think they thought after they started with the sponge tip rather than the bristles that all worries are gone, they aren't. It is clumpy, lumpy and makes your paper look ridiculous to the point that even you other less perfectionist people out there would want to re-do your entire piece of paper. Maybe I made the mistake of buying the "Extra Coverage" which by the way even comes as "Extra Coverage Plus." I am not sure what the "Plus" on that means except that it also does NOT work because my fiance picked that bottle up as well one day due to my rant on the first bottle.
I am not impressed here at all with BIC and their wite out domination. There are wite out pens, wit out tapes, and wite out bottles. As far as the bottles are concerned, why can't there just be a bottled wite out that combines everything? So if you need "Extra Coverage" are you supposed to use that but also need it to dry quickly so you put that over it? I mean, what gives? I am not impressed by this bottle of wite out at all. As I previously stated it did not provide extra coverage of any means unless you count the lumps on my paper. (and yes I had to just start over because it irritated me so badly) It does NOT work and that is the plain and simple fact.

MY SUMMARY I don't think I can really add to that, but let me make it clearer so everyone is with me on the same page.
DON'T BUY IT. I DON'T RECOMMEND BIC Extra Coverage Wite Out. Anyways, according to my fiance, the "wite out tape" is the best thing that has come along since that walk in humidor he calls "HEAVEN." Save your $.89 cents and spend it on something else that actually works because this product will only cause you a headache.
As I wrote this article I went back to check on the bottle to see how it was doing (maybe it improved like wine with age, NOT), since it hadn't been used in a couple of months,
IT WAS WORSE! I don't know how that could possibly occur but it did. Does that mean that Wite Out only has such a long shelf life of a month and if so, shouldn't they add that in tiny print too on the back of the bottle, to let us know that this must be used within the month or it will just get even more clumpy on you.
Maybe I need a wite-out shaker like they do with the paint cans when you purchase paint to shake the darn thing out right. I culd invent a tiny little wite out shaker that you would place your wite out bottle in and it would shake it "well" for you. How long is "shake well" anyways? Okay, maybe I should just stick to old faithful, my computer, which always has the "DELETE and BACKSPACE" buttons.
So let me sum this up so we all have it straight. 1)$.89 cents in cost on sale at Office Max
2)Extra Coverage does nothing more than mess up your paper further and it also takes FOREVER to dry which is why I mentioned earlier about putting the quick dry over it to speed up the process
3)The Extra Coverage DOES NOT work at all and is a WASTE OF YOUR MONEY
4)Wite Out was created as a CORRECTION FLUID not a CLUMPY, MESSY, USELESS, NON-FLUID, which is what BIC has managed to create with their Extra Coverage Line of Wite Out. I don't think I can be any clearer than that. So that is my review on wite out and why I hate it and how it has managed to monopolize consumers tricking them rather than making a decent bottle of white out that just WORKED by tying everything in together.
