First off this monoblock is deceiving; it is quite heavy. When placed on my modest 3 tier entertainment rack it needs to have its own shelf, which is quite a hassle if you have more than 2 components (which I do). As to the actual performance I could not be happier. With one channel 250w RMS it really does the job of driving my power hungry SVS Subwoofer. Oh and by the way, this is one of the best performing subs on the market. Find one used if possible as they are on backorder with the manufacturer. This modular power amplifier allows you to "daisy-chain" several Audiosource Monoblock amplifiers together for increased power.
There are several safety features in this amplifier to prevent power spikes to blow out your speakers. A very nice feature indeed. And I also liked the fact that there is a volume dial on the front of the amplifier and not in the back.
Some have complained that the fan is a little noisy. I beg to differ. Although it can be heard when no audio source is playing, you can't hear it when movies and music are playing.
There are numerous comparable monoblock amplifiers out there. I truly believe that the higher priced ones are high in price due to their brand name. Don't be fooled into buying those high priced amps. This one can't be beat, especially for the price. It easily equals the performance of more expensive monoblock amplifiers like Marantz.
Go out an buy one, it is relatively inexpensive and delivers good, clean power. You can find one in online classifieds like www.audioreview.com for a relatively cheap price. Even if it is used, it will last forever as it is built like a tank.
