Big bangs and tiny soldiers.

This game has been out for what seems like an age on the Playstation and N64.There have even been a couple more Army men titles brought out since on these platforms. It therefore seems an odd choice of game to release on this 'next generation console'.All the Army men games on the Playstation were average at best. How does this version compare?
Well everything is pretty much identical except for the graphics which ,as would be expected, have been improved significantly. The Playstation and N64 graphics were indistinct, foggy and plagued with pop-up problems and glitches. On the Dreamcast the game looks bright and crisp with smooth movement.
The gameplay is identical to the other versions with you working your way through the levels using different weapons from the sniper rifle to the mortar. This is fun for a while but gets repetitive rather too soon. There appears to be a gap between when you press the fire button and when your weapon actually shoots. This gets very annoying in heated close quarter exchanges.
This is by no means a terrible game and is the best Army men game produced so far.If it had been released when the Dreamcast first came out it would have seemed fresher than it does now and would have received decent ratings. However with lots of better shooting games available now and games like Half Life coming out soon why should anyone purchase this offering?
