Mutiny aboard the Amistad

As Speilberg's first movie under his personally owned directing company, Amistad is typical Spielberg. When I say 'typical Speilberg,' I mean greatness. He has produced the majority of the top ten movies of all time.

When Speilberg picked Morgan Freeman, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and Matthew McConaghey, you knew it had to be a great movie. You can't go wrong with a cast of this magnitude.

As a slave ship crosses the ocean, the slaves break free and take over the ship while killing the crew. As they reach land, their troubles begin. They end up being tried for murder for killing the crew of the ship. McConaghey is their lawyer, but doesn't speak the same language.

It is a touching adventure that shows how bad many of the slaves actually had it. It is a sad but inspiring movie. If you enjoy a serious, touching movie, this is one to rent today.
