I purchased my 2003 RSX TYPE-S November 12 2006. I choose the color blue without the spoiler. The car had aftermarket clear tailights already installed and they actually look natural. The Acura has 45000kms, was garage kept and lady driven. the car was acura serviced and came with the service history. The dealer put new front brake pads and turned the rotors. The interior is in show room condition. The exterior had a minor dent that acura fixed and they replace the 3m rock guard for free. I paid 26900 when tax and admin fees were all said and done. Before I settled on this car I have tested six others in the lower price range. Each one was unique in motor noise, and all of them had high km rangeing from 62000 to 85000kms. The car that handled the best had 17inch rims and wide stance tires, so in the future i plan on mounting some aswell. Reguardless the cars with the factory rims and tires handled great and cornering is amazeing. The car does not tilt a
bit in turns. The interior is well designed and the instruments/stereo is all geared toward the driver, which is good in my opinion since the car is aimed for single people who commute in the city. The black leather bucket seats mold to your body and make you feel like a race car driver. I love the comfort of the seats and they are heated. the heated seats work great and the buttons to turn them off are easy to reach. The stereo is awsome for those who are mature and do not need to thump around town. The steering wheel is leather wrapped but can get in the way of the rpm guage. For those who are 6,'1 like myself there is no getting around this problem. The 6 speed manual is short and easy to use, the space between shifting is short which is good since the motor
only produces low torque and needs to be driven to 7500rpm to get the full 200hp. At first I had to teach myself to drive the motor to how it was designed. Meaning to zip around you need to stay above 4000rpm and accellerate to 7500 and then shift gears, the tach with drop to 4000 and you repeat the processs. While this is going on the motor is heard the whole time. In my rsx the motor noise is nice and I enjoy the constant sound. With the music on, the motor noise is faint. from what I noticed the motor noise will change in pitch as the car ages. The higher km type-s all sounded louder but each had a different pitch. You will have to test drive a few to get what i am trying to get at. With any luck you will happen on one that was babied and sounds great. I have not noticed the loud
tire noise others have complained about, I cant believe anyone can hear that type of noise over the motor. This car was made for the mature in mind, the car has a sleek refined look, the interior is just awsome to look at and use. The back seats can fit two small people, but only one big guy. This is common sense though who buys a sports coupe to lug others around? The ride is nice on smooth roads but can get rough on bumpy.
The hatch back can hold just about anything most single people would need to transport. The back seats fold down and my ski equiptment fits easily. The car does have some sound proofing and the subwoofer is placed in the spare tire well, great idea. The type s comes with a seven speaker BOSE system
which sounds great. the volume cannot be cranked so high that the speakers blow. Which is good for the next guy who buys the car. Overall the car in my opinion is perfect for me, a everyday joe who has a steady girlfriend who drives her own car, and we have no kids. I tell ya it pulls constantly if u drive it right and will give you girlfriend a kinked neck, and your self for that matter. This little blue acura puts a big grin on my face everytime I hit the 4000rpm mark and try to stay well above it... I just had an Injen Cold Air Intake installed. The car gets better gas mileage and the engine sounds deeper. The install took 3 hrs but I was only charged for 2. I also gained 12hp. I am not sure if I will add headers or aftermarket exaust. If I do I expect to gain 8 more hp for a grand total of 220hp, not bad for bolt ons.
