Bottom drawer a waste

I was sold on the convenience of having the bottom drawer - hated the idea of food getting lost at the bottom of the freezer. However, the drawer is only useful as overflow from my refrigerator. Don't store anything in it you wouldn't keep in the fridge, especially not ice cream, unless you like it runny! The top portion works great. It's a good size for small families (just 3 of us) though I wish I could shop less frequently and get more in it.
