We have a less than full-size fridge/freezer in our rental and needed the extra space so as to avoid domestic disputes anytime there was 2-for-1 ice cream sale! I love this freezer because it has two baskets which makes it easy to reach everything inside, whereas with the other chest freezers you are reaching all the way down to the floor. It stays very cold, except for the lower drawer which keeps temperature as the manufacturer claims, but this not cold enough to keep something like ice in the bin without it partially melting. It works well for items that don't absolutely need to be frozen such as baked goods, flour and nuts. I do prefer the convenience of keeping ice in the bottom drawer and to do this I have to make sure the unit is kept a bit colder than the manufacturer's maximum recommendation (-5 in the main compartment and 18 or below in the lower). The trade-off is that I've had to defrost every 6 months, but for me it is worth it.
I will say that defrosting is messy as ice forms on the coils above the drawer. I remove the drawer and lay towels down for the process which takes several hours. You know it's time to defrost when the drawer becomes difficult to open - the snow is building up. Until someone figures out a better way to combine the convenience of a chest freezer with the extra space the drawer provides, with equal chill distribution, I am satisfied with this model.
