Product Description

 
Based on a true story, THE GHOST AND THE DARKNESS takes place in Africa during the late 1890s and concerns two ferocious lions who killed 130 railroad construction workers in only two months. A pair of courageous men, no-nonsense engineer John Patterson (Val Kilmer) and rugged hunter Charles Remington (Michael Douglas), set out to shoot the creatures, known as the Ghost and the Darkness. Making their task even harder is the two animals un-lionlike behavior--they kill in tandem, attack in the daylight, and show no fear of anything. Soon the hunters become the hunted....

Ghost and the Darkness ~ Didn't Do It For Me

The Bottom Line: I don't think those were lions at all.. they were a heard of Bottom Lines.
Review: OK. I know. Ghost and the Darkness has gotten all kinds of positive feedback everywhere you look. It even won an Oscar for Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing. I'm sorry, it just did not hold my attention. Yet more proof that I must have absolutely...

The eeriest hunting film I've ever seen.

The Bottom Line: This film not only has a historical backing, but its eerie nature makes it a great thriller. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Review: If you like stories of spirits and things that go bump in the night, you're in the wrong place. The events in this film actually happened. More than a creepy safari story, the man-eaters featured here did much worse than the film's account.
